Financial worries are increasingly causing Britons to lose sleep, a survey has revealed.
According to the Metro, research by Harris Interactive has indicated that one-third of people are being kept awake at night due to concerns about the recession.
Two-thirds are losing sleep at least once a month, but those who are worried about their debt problems may wish to seek IVA advice, as help is available to establish affordable repayments.
Other findings included the fact that one in six have turned to alcohol to help them sleep, while half of respondents stated that they have been using laptops in bed in order to finish off work.
Caterina Gerlotto of Harris Interactive said it is unsurprising that employment and money worries are causing such problems, adding: "The economic crisis appears to be taking its toll on us when we do eventually make the decision to turn off the lights."
Recent statistics from charity Credit Action showed that one person in the UK is being declared bankrupt or entering into an IVA every 4.35 minutes.
