Failure to ’switch and save’ costing Brits dear?

Failure to 'switch and save' costing Brits dear?

Wednesday 5th of January 2011

People in Britain already deep in the red and struggling to keep on top of their money may find failing to switch and save on the most popular financial products leads them to ask individual voluntary arrangement questions.

New research compiled by Gocompare.com has shown one in four UK adults have never changed providers in order to get a better deal.

The investigation revealed 13.6 per cent of drivers have not altered their car insurer, while 13.8 per cent of consumers have never switched their home insurer.

Business development director at the price comparison website John Miles was quoted as saying: "Insurers, energy providers and lenders aren't in the habit of voluntarily giving better deals to loyal customers so it's up to consumers to shop around."

Ian Coles, director of Santander Cards, recently claimed January is traditionally a tough month for many and advised people to take control of their monetary situation during this period.
