The good news is your landlord is not automatically told about your Individual Voluntary Arrangement (IVA) and therefore it is highly unlikely that your landlord will find out about your IVA.
When your IVA proposal is approved a record of your Individual Voluntary Arrangement (IVA) is placed on the Individual Insolvency Register
TheĀ Individual Insolvency Register is an on-line register of all Individual Voluntary Arrangements and Bankruptcies.
This register is available to any one with access to the internet.
So technically your landlord could, like any other member of the public find out about your Individual Voluntary Arrangement (IVA) by stumbling across the insolvency register and specifically searching through the register for all the names of people he knows, just to see if anyone he knows are listed.
But in reality it is highly unlikely that your Individual Voluntary Arrangement (IVA) will become common knowledge.
This is not the case in a Bankruptcy where information of your bankruptcy is publicised in the local press.
