The IVA register is the name used to refer to the public record which holds the details of all active IVAs and Bankruptcies in the United Kingdom.
The IVA register is also known as the Individual Insolvency Register.
As the IVA register is a matter of public record, it is available for anyone to view, so long as they have access to the internet.
The information registered is generally headline information and details of specific case particulars, such as the monthly contribution, the original level of debt or the creditors names, are not listed.
The register gives the full name of the individual that’s entered in the arrangement, along with their date of birth and their last known address too.
Also the name of the Insolvency Practitioner who acted as the IVA’s Nominee and address of the Insolvency Practice that is acting as the IVA’s Supervisor.
The IVA register can be accessed by visiting the Insolvency services website at www.insolvency.gov.uk and then by clicking on the link labelled ‘Bankruptcy/IVA search’ on the home page.
For those people without an internet connection who wish to search the register, it’s also possible to perform an on-line search by visiting your local library or by visiting your local Official Receiver’s office Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm.
