Also, it can take several weeks to manage to make an appointment with the Citizens Advice Bureau. This is because each branch of the Citizens Advice Bureau has to deal with thousands of cases unrelated to personal debt.
Therefore their general advisers are able to assist with such a wide range of subjects that they have had to train up ‘debt advisers’ to enable them to focus on this very specialised area.
This inevitably leads to delays in setting appointments, as demand is so high.
